# How do I import notes from Bear Notes?
The following steps will help you import your notes from Bear notes easily.
1. Open Bear Notes app on Desktop.
2. Click on `File` and select `Backup Notes`
2. Select the location where you want to store the backup file. It will be a `.bearbk` file.
4. Go to [Notesnook Importer](https://importer.notesnook.com) and select `Bear Notes` from list of apps.
5. Drop the `.bearbk` backup file you exported earlier from Bear Notes in the box or click anywhere to open system file picker to select the file
6. Click on `Import 1 file` button to start importing.
7. Click on `Download .nnbackup` to download the file.
After you have downloaded the `.nnbackup` file, go to Notesnook app and [restore backup](../backup-and-restore-notes-in-notesnook.md) file to get all your notes.
