# How do I import notes from plain text files?

To import plain text files to notesnook go to Notesnook Importer on your PC/Laptop.

1. From the list of formats to import, select "Plain Text".

2. Drop your text files or click anywhere inside the box to browse and select your text files.

3. Click on import files button on bottom right corner to start importing files
4. Click on `Download .nnbackup` to download the file.

After you have downloaded the `.nnbackup` file, go to Notesnook app and [restore backup](../backup-and-restore-notes-in-notesnook.md) file to get all your notes.
