ebb1758d73 Remove unused ShowPowerDisplayEvent from PowerDisplay
All references to ShowPowerDisplayEvent have been removed, including its constant definition, related methods, event handle management, and event registration. Error handling and shutdown logic were updated accordingly. Documentation was revised to clarify event naming and provide a Toggle event example. This cleans up legacy code for an event that is no longer used.

4c93fe01d0 PowerDisplay: overhaul design docs, remove obsolete IPC code
Expanded and clarified PowerDisplay design documentation:
- Added detailed section on monitor identification (handles, IDs, MST, clone mode, etc.) with diagrams and tables.
- Updated architecture, flowcharts, and class diagrams to reflect new helpers, services, and improved data flows.
- Expanded internal structure details for PowerDisplay.Lib and app, listing new helpers, models, and utilities.
- Updated sequence diagrams for LightSwitch integration and Settings UI interaction.
- Revised future considerations, marking hot-plug and rotation as implemented, and adding new feature ideas.

Removed all obsolete PowerDisplay IPC forwarding code from settings_window.cpp/h, including the send_powerdisplay_message_to_settings_ui function and related JSON dispatch logic. This reflects a refactor or deprecation of the previous custom IPC mechanism.

47638c5c6d Add DisplayChangeWatcher for monitor hot-plug detection
Introduced the `DisplayChangeWatcher` component to detect monitor
connect/disconnect events using the WinRT `DeviceWatcher` API.
Implemented 1-second debouncing to coalesce rapid changes and
trigger a `DisplayChanged` event for refreshing the monitor list.

Integrated `DisplayChangeWatcher` into `MainViewModel`, adding
lifecycle management methods (`StartDisplayWatching`,
`StopDisplayWatching`) and handling the `DisplayChanged` event
to refresh monitors dynamically.

Updated `Dispose` in `MainViewModel` to ensure proper cleanup
of the `DisplayChangeWatcher`. Enhanced logging and added
detailed comments for better traceability.

Modified `design.md` to document the new component, updated
flowcharts, and marked "Monitor Hot-Plug" as implemented.
Reflected changes in the `PowerDisplay` directory structure.

f32ee3ea02 Add WindowParser and refactor theme and brightness logic
Introduced `WindowParser` to parse `windowN` segments for PIP/PBP
capabilities in MCCS strings. Added new data models (`WindowCapability`,
`WindowArea`, `WindowSize`) to represent parsed window data. Updated
`MccsCapabilitiesParser` to handle `windowN` segments and added unit
tests for various configurations.

Refactored brightness control in `DdcCiController` to exclusively use
VCP code `0x10`, removing high-level API methods. Updated `DdcCiNative`
to streamline brightness operations.

Revised `LightSwitchListener` and `LightSwitchStateManager` to use
separate light/dark theme events, eliminating race conditions. Removed
registry-based theme detection logic.

Enhanced `VcpCodeNames` with additional VCP codes and improved
categorization. Updated documentation and architecture diagrams to
reflect these changes. Removed unused legacy methods and improved
logging and error handling.

9413b7cc37 Replace regex parser with recursive descent parser
Introduce a new `MccsCapabilitiesParser` to replace the
regex-based `VcpCapabilitiesParser` for parsing MCCS capabilities
strings. The new parser uses a grammar-based recursive descent
approach, improving performance, extensibility, and error handling.

Key changes:
- Implement `MccsCapabilitiesParser` with `ref struct` for zero
  heap allocation and efficient parsing using `ReadOnlySpan<char>`.
- Add sub-parsers for `vcp()` and `vcpname()` segments.
- Accumulate errors in `ParseError` list and return partial results.
- Replace all references to `VcpCapabilitiesParser` with the new
  parser in `DdcCiNative.cs` and `MonitorManager.cs`.
- Enhance `VcpCapabilities` model with `MccsVersion` property.
- Add comprehensive unit tests in `MccsCapabilitiesParserTests.cs`
  to validate real-world examples and edge cases.
- Remove legacy `VcpCapabilitiesParser` and associated code.

Additional improvements:
- Optimize parsing for both space-separated and concatenated hex
  formats.
- Improve logging for parsing progress and error diagnostics.
- Adjust application initialization to prevent race conditions.

## Detailed Description of the Pull Request / Additional comments

### Known bugs:
- Default settings not saving correctly when switching modes
- Issue: Sometimes when you switch from one mode to another, they are
supposed to update with new defaults but sometimes this fails for the
second variable. Potentially has to do with accessing the settings file
while another chunk of code is still updating.
- Sometimes the system looks "glitched" when switching themes

### To do:
- [x] OOBE page and assets
- [x] Logic to disable the chart when no location has been selected
- [x] Localization

### How to and what to test
Grab the latest installer from the pipeline below for your architecture
and install PowerToys from there.
- Toggle theme shortcutSystem only, Apps only, Both system and apps
selected
- Does changing the values on the settings page update the settings
file? %LOCALAPPDATA%/Microsoft/PowerToys/LightSwitch/settings.json
- Manual mode: System only, Apps only, Both system and apps selected
- Sunrise modes: Are the times accurate?
- If you manage to let this run through sunset/rise does the theme
change?
- Set your theme to change within the next minute using manual mode and
set your device to sleepOpen your device and login once the time you set
has passed. --> Do your settings resync once the next minute ticks after
logging back into your device?
- Disable the service and ensure the tasks actually ends.
- While the module is disabled:
     - Make sure the shortcut no longer works
     - Make sure the last time you set doesn't trigger a theme change
- Bonus: Toggle GPO Configuration and make sure you are unable to enable
the module

bf16e10baf Updates for check-spelling v0.0.25 (#40386)
## Summary of the Pull Request

- #39572 updated check-spelling but ignored:
   > 🐣 Breaking Changes
[Code Scanning action requires a Code Scanning
Ruleset](https://github.com/check-spelling/check-spelling/wiki/Breaking-Change:-Code-Scanning-action-requires-a-Code-Scanning-Ruleset)
If you use SARIF reporting, then instead of the workflow yielding an
when it fails, it will rely on [github-advanced-security
🤖](https://github.com/apps/github-advanced-security) to report the
failure. You will need to adjust your checks for PRs.

This means that check-spelling hasn't been properly doing its job 😦.

I'm sorry, I should have pushed a thing to this repo earlier,...

Anyway, as with most refreshes, this comes with a number of fixes, some
are fixes for typos that snuck in before the 0.0.25 upgrade, some are
for things that snuck in after, some are based on new rules in
spell-check-this, and some are hand written patterns based on running
through this repository a few times.

About the 🐣 **breaking change**: someone needs to create a ruleset for
this repository (see [Code Scanning action requires a Code Scanning
Ruleset: Sample ruleset

](https://github.com/check-spelling/check-spelling/wiki/Breaking-Change:-Code-Scanning-action-requires-a-Code-Scanning-Ruleset#sample-ruleset)).

The alternative to adding a ruleset is to change the condition to not
use sarif for this repository. In general, I think the github
integration from sarif is prettier/more helpful, so I think that it's
the better choice.

You can see an example of it working in:

74a1a6eca2 Upgrade to check-spelling v0.0.24 (#36235)
This upgrades to [v0.0.24](https://github.com/check-spelling/check-spelling/releases/tag/v0.0.24).

A number of GitHub APIs are being turned off shortly, so you need to upgrade or various uncertain outcomes will occur.

There's a new accessibility forbidden pattern:

> Do not use `(click) here` links
> For more information, see:
> * https://www.w3.org/QA/Tips/noClickHere
> * https://webaim.org/techniques/hypertext/link_text
> * https://granicus.com/blog/why-click-here-links-are-bad/
> * https://heyoka.medium.com/dont-use-click-here-f32f445d1021
```pl
(?i)(?:>|\[)(?:(?:click |)here|link|(?:read |)more)(?:</|\]\()
```

There are some minor bugs that I'm aware of and which I've fixed since this release, but I don't expect to make another release this month.

I've added a pair of patterns for includes and pragmas. My argument is that the **compiler** will _generally_ tell you if you've misspelled an include and the **linker** will _generally_ tell you if you misspell a lib.

- There's a caveat here: If your include case-insensitively matches the referenced file (but doesn't properly match it), then unless you either use a case-sensitive file system (as opposed to case-preserving) or beg clang to warn, you won't notice when you make this specific mistake -- this matters in that a couple of Windows headers (e.g. Unknwn.h) have particular case and repositories don't tend to consistently/properly write them.

## Detailed Description of the Pull Request / Additional comments

For both settings the users can decide to be in sync with the system
settings (default) or to use their own setting. The order of days for
the `first day of week` setting is based on the current system culture.

PT Run respects these settings for the relevant results:
- calendar week
- week of month
- number of day in week

Tudor Croitoru
602368f6cc [PTRun]New plugin: Value generator with hashing functions (#26097)
* Add hashing plugin for Run

* Cleanup logic for hasher plugin

- The IComputeRequest interface should make it easier to implement new
  generators in the future
- The GUID generator can now generate all versions of GUID (a.k.a. UUID)
- The input for the hash functions is not quite right. The
  Wox.Plugin.Query class doesn't actually have a way to ge the raw query
  as given by the user. The issue is with multiple spaces. An input like
  "a a  a    a    a" would only be accessible as "a a a a a" using the
  Query class.
  So for now, hashing only works correctly if the input
  doesn't contain multiple consecutive spaces.
- Need a way to make clear the usage for generating GUIDv3 and v5, since
  they take 2 parameters. There are defaults, but they aren't very
  clear.

* Change plugin name to ValueGenerator

* Clean up error handling for the input parser

* Add result type and description to subtitle

* Change the icons

* Add Base64 encoding and unit tests

This commit adds Base64 encoding as a utility of the value generator
plugin. The command is `# base64 ***input***`.

Also added unit tests for the UUID/GUID generator and for the input
parser. I don't think tests are necessary for the hashing functions
or for the base64 encoder, since those were part of the the system
libraries.

I'll open a PR for the documentation tomorrow and mark this draft
for review.

* Excluded UUIDv2

* Change icons

* Add RawUserQuery to Wox.Plugin.Query

Getting the RawUserQuery is necessary to be able to handle queries like
`# md5 a a`, where the intent is to get the hash for `a a`.
The existing `RawQuery` removes consecutive whitespaces and there was no
other way of getting the request as entered by the user.

* Add ValueGenerator plugin to installer

Also add the unit tests for the plugin to the pipeline.

* Small cleanup

* Fix spelling

* Fix spelling again

* Spell check for guiddata

* More fixes

This commit adds the dev docs explaining the classes in the new plugin.
It also fixes the following issues:
1. ValueGenerator was not a dependency for the PowerLauncher project
2. The error message for an invalid SHA variant now displays the
   supported SHA variants
3. Hash requests now wait for a string to hash (i.e. no longer hash an
   empty string)
4. GUID v3 and v5 namespace aliases allow lowercase notation
5. Unnecessary debug logs
6. An empty query will now just log "Empty request"
7. An invalid query will also log user query

* Spell check fix again

* Change error message for unsupported GUID versions

* Remove Any CPU from the solution

* Add to installer

* Remove duplicated ValueGeneratorPluginFolder entry
